Diagnosis of Colon Cancer-The simplest way to detect cancer of the rectum is to insert a finger into the rectum physician, the rectal examination. This examination can be done in an outpatient clinic, takes less than 5 minutes and causes minimal discomfort. For cancer located further inside the colon, can sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy examination. Binoculars flexible optical fiber is inserted through the rectum into the colon. Several X-rays taken at different parts of the colon and abnormal regions identified. The next doctor may perform a colonoscopy or sigmoidoscopy so biopsies of suspicious areas can be done.
